Minute-to-win-it!

ICRA’s first event is coming! On Thursday, October 7th at 6:30pm at the Village Building 2, ICRA is hosting Minute-to-win-it. Here’s the facebook description:

Do you like fun games, prizes, and free food? If so, come to ICRA’s Minute-to-win it! Based on the NBC game show of the same name, at Minute-to-win-it you will be presented the opportunity to play 10 very unique games - for the opportunity to win wonderful prizes - all conveniently only 60 seconds long.

There will be free pizza, cookies, and refreshments on the side for anyone who is hungry, but the main focus will be presented on the games and prizes.

A list of prizes being raffled off
include:
- Free ICRA T-shirts
- Free Movie Gift Baskets
- Free UCSD paraphernalia including: pillows, blankets, beach towels, mugs, bags, lanyards, magnets, frisbee, mouse pad, water bottles, and sweaters
- Free Ipod Nano & Free Ipod Touch (both new generation).

In 60 seconds can you complete the following challenges?

Breakfast Scramble: The UCSD student must complete a puzzle of a cereal box cover. There are 16-20 squares cut from a cereal box that need to be placed in the puzzle area. The cereal box puzzle pieces are the same shape, adding to the difficulty.

Defying Gravity: The UCSD student must keep three balloons in the air for sixty seconds, using any part of their body. The UCSD student fails the challenge if any of the balloons touch the ground or pop, or if the contestant goes outside the circular part of the stage.

Keep it Up: The contestant must keep two feathers in the air using only their breath for 60 seconds. The contestant fails the challenge if the feathers touch the body, the ground or the audience.

Caddy Stack: The UCSD Student must stack three golf balls on the table. The stack must remain in place for three consecutive seconds in order for the contestant to complete the challenge.

Mega Bubble: The UCSD Student must blow a bubble through a hula hoop positioned 15 feet (4.6 m) away.

Bottoms Up: The UCSD Student must use a yo-yo attached to the back of their body to knock down 4 empty soda cans resting on top of full soda cans.

Moving on Up: Holding a stack of 39 blue cups and one red one at the bottom, the UCSD Student must get the red cup to the top and back by moving cups, one at a time, using alternating hands, from the top of the stack to the bottom. The red cup must be back at the bottom of the stack after going through the stack to complete the challenge.

On the Hook: The UCSD Student must use a chopstick, a string, and a paper clip to collect four keys that are on the edge of a table. The keys must be hooked for three seconds in order to count.

Penny Hose: The UCSD Student must retrieve two pennies dropped into a pair of tights without stretching or bunching the tights or having one hand help the other.

If you think you can win any of these games, or if you just want to enjoy free food and watch people play, come to ICRA’s Minute-to-win it! Thursday October 7th 6:30 - 8:30 PM at the Village Building 2 !
